How To Become Involved With Supporting

The Solidarity Coalition
For Healing and Resilience

Invaluable professional and personal experience is available for those who wish to be part of a team conducting an unprecedented Coalition of Disaster Health Care NGOs providing critical health care to victims of war, violence, and displacement in the Middle East.

* Involvement can be fully virtual or optionally in-person, and is typically custom-designed to match a team member’s interests, skills, experience, time, and schedule.

Opportunities Are Available For:

Professional Volunteering:
Volunteering offers meaningful professional work experience that can be documented for resumes, as well as provide unique opportunities to meet and work with experienced, leading edge professionals.

Internships & Field Placements:
Internships & field placements are available in related fields with the approval of a students university. In cooperation with the professional health care NGOs making up the coalition, placements are available in a variety of fields, including but not limited to mental health, medical health, human services, sociology, policy & program development, organizational & community development, technology & computer sciences.

Our coordinators and staff make themselves fully available to support and guide all volunteers, and professional internship and field placement supervision is available to meet university requirements.

Available Task Group Involvement – virtually or in-person, can include:

1) Local Capacity Building Skills Training: Mental Health / Psychosocial and Medical Service Skills: 

a) professional and paraprofessional treatment skills training to local service provider trainees. 
B) Building on-going partnerships with local service NGOs. 
c) Developing and expanding on ongoing mechanisms for psycho-emotional support and mentoring of local front-line workers.

2) Mental health or medical health treatment 
     * Interns or field placement students are under the supervision of a professional

3) Public Mental and Medical Health Education and Self-Help Skills: 
Developing and providing public mental and medical health educational approaches and materials, and self-help skills learning. 

4) Mapping and Research:

a) Mapping the local Service and Need landscape to create a Searchable Database of health care services for better informed community access to existing services, referral & coordination between NGOs, and overall strategic service planning and development

b) Research on topics related to central issues and practices that the coalition’s work focuses on, including the needs it addresses, the services it provides, and results (peer reviewed research articles are eligible to be considered for publishing in the International Journal of Communal and Transgenerational Trauma

5) Technology Support and Resources 
Assisting with: Developing strategies for mutually-supporting coalition social media platforms that support all virtual aspects of the coalitions work, overcoming the communication technical barriers that are either imposed or the result of compromised and destroyed local infrastructure, and utilizing technology aids – including AI – that supports and enhances the overall mission, goals, and activities of the coalition and each member NGO. 

6) Resource Development and Sharing
Researching and generating shared Hard Resources (Funding, In-kind, Logistical) and specialized Skill and Staffing Resources to significantly increase and sustain the reach, effectiveness, and sustainability of services overall through strategic collaboration and mutual support.
Assisting with:

a) Researching grant opportunities and determining appropriate grantors, including foundations.

Collecting data and completing proposal components for submission
Using database systems in support of grant writing processes

b) Organizing campaigns to generate in-kind donations of materials, services, and other concrete support.
c) Organizing crowd-fundraising strategies and programs.

7)  Professional Community Outreach and Networking:
Assisting with:  Outreach, engagement, and networking with the global professional community to promote increased awareness, input, support and collaboration. 

8)  International Journal of Communal & Transgenerational Trauma:  (cttjournal.org).  Tasks with this online, peer reviewed professional journal include:

a) Assisting as an Editorial assistant (details available at: cttjournal.org/staff-board/edit-assist/ )
b) Assisting with the technical aspects of managing and developing features and functions of an online journal
